IgnitionSync (“we”, “us”) builds a mobile app that connects to your vehicle to diagnose problems and track maintenance. This policy explains what we collect through the app and this site, why, and how you can control it.

Account data

Creating an account requires an email address and password. We store your email, a securely hashed password, and basic account metadata to authenticate you and sync your data across devices. You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the app.

Vehicle and diagnostic data

When you connect a Bluetooth OBD-II reader, the app reads diagnostic trouble codes and vehicle signals to identify likely causes and suggest parts. This data, along with any service history or symptoms you enter, is stored against your account to power diagnoses and maintenance tracking. We do not sell this data or use it to build advertising profiles.

Device permissions

The app requests a few device permissions, each used only for the stated purpose:

• Bluetooth — to connect to your OBD-II reader.
• Location — to detect whether your vehicle is moving; your location is not stored or shared.
• Microphone — to listen to and analyze sounds from your vehicle when you choose to record them.
• Motion & notifications — to detect drive activity and remind you about maintenance or certificate expiry.

You can revoke any of these permissions in your device settings; doing so may limit related features.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (screens visited, features used, crash reports) so we can fix bugs and improve the product. Analytics data is tied to an anonymous device or account identifier, not sold, and not used for third-party advertising.

Website & waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this site, we store the email address and timestamp you submit, used only to notify you about launch and access. We do not sell your email address.

Your choices

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — see how to delete your account. You can also unsubscribe from emails at any time. We’ll respond to data requests within 30 days.

Changes

As IgnitionSync adds features, this policy will be updated to reflect new data practices. We’ll update the date above whenever that happens.
